Registration for Men at 18

The Military Selective Service Act requires all men ages 18-25 who are U.S. citizens and those who have dual citizenship living abroad to register within 30 days of their eighteenth birthday. The benefits accompanied by registering with the Selective Service are paramount to a young man’s life.

The Civic Organization Toolkit is a resource utilized among community groups, parent teacher associations, civic leagues, and more. Each section of the toolkit will provide information on how your organization can promote registration and raise awareness in your community.

Who Needs to Register

Almost all male U.S. citizens and male immigrants, who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service. There are very few exceptions to this as Selective Service is responsible for availability and not acceptability.
