Online verification provides a quick way to access your Selective Service registration number and date of registration. After retrieving your registration information online, you have the option to print an official letter of verification from Selective Service. Online verification of Selective Service registration is only available for men born on or after January 1, 1960. Online verification requires a social security number. Men Born Before 1960
To obtain Selective Service information for men born before 1960, print, complete, and mail this form to:

If records are found, you will receive an invoice for payment from NARA. Please note, there is never a charge from Selective Service System for Registration or Registration records for men born January 1st, 1960 and later.
Men Born from March 29, 1957 to December 31, 1959
These men were never required to register with Selective Service because the registration program was not in operation at the time they turned 18.

Update Your Registration
After you register, you are required to update your registration information within 10 days, until January 1 of the year you turn 26. Corrections take 30 days to process, after which we will mail you a new acknowledgment card.
Update your registration using the change of information form if:
- Your name on file with Selective Service is misspelled;
- You legally changed your name, indicate the new name, provide a copy of the court order for your legal name change and supporting documentation; or
- Your birthdate on file with Selective Service is incorrect
