This position is located in
the Selective Service System, National
Headquarters, Information Technology Division
which has responsibility for the development and
management of applications and database systems
that facilitate the mission of the agency. The
incumbent will serve as a senior level technical
authority with “hands on” responsibility for the
development, implementation, and management of
generalized computer applications that provide
data and information to internal customer service
staff as well as the general public.

The incumbent
exercises on a continuing basis associate
authority with the Director in planning,
organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling
the activities and functions of the Selective
Service System. This includes the following major
duties:

sets
goals and objectives for the organization and
monitors the progress.

consults with the Director on key top personnel
acquisitions and separations.

consults with the Director on major policy
changes affecting the Selective Service System.
-
reviews proposals for reorganization and
staffing changes.
-
recommends strategy for presentation of Agency
positions and policy to the general public and
target audiences.
-
serves as a liaison for SSS when dealing with
outside organizations and agencies in support of
selective service actions.

The Computer/Electronic Accommodations
